Activities

"A house is not a home unless it contains
food and fire for the mind as well as the body."
Benjamin Franklin

"And in the end it's not the years in your life
that count.  It's the life in your years."
Abraham Lincoln

Moberly Manor's Activity Program is as varied and as personalized as the individual needs of the up to 109 residents who call our facility home.  Theme activities, such as our recent Cruise Ship theme week, address groups of residents as well as those individuals no longer able to participate in group outings.  Each resident's participation is facilitated, through large and small groups and one-on-one contact from Moberly staff and volunteers.

Two large passenger busses, outfitted with wheelchair lifts, are available so that Moberly Manor residents can enjoy outings.  Recent trips have included a day at Keeneland, Lexington's premier thoroughbred track, a visit to Legend's Baseball Park, and a trip to Cincinnati to see the Reds play.

If a resident expresses a wish to do something, our award winning, dedicated Activities staff will pull out all the stops to make it happen!

Our Director, Ms. Kathy Rasmussen, was honored in 2007 by the Kentucky Association of Homes and Services for the Aging for being named "Activities Director of the Year in Kentucky."
